Lamentations

Jeff Buckley, Son of Tim Buckley singing here Dido’s Lament, from Purcell’s Dido and Anaes. This, the first opera composed in English, has always had a very special place in my heart. Usually for some unknown reason I find Opera in English trying, threatening on the edge of a musical. This however is something completely different. Following in the tangent of the eternaly young Buckley is You and I, the song composed for his father Tim Buckley and inspired by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
